Question

How does Symplr / Reptrax credentialing work for medical device suppliers?

Short answer

Symplr (now Vendormate) and Reptrax are hospital-side credentialing platforms that enforce GPO supplier insurance schedules. Medical device suppliers upload COIs and endorsements; if the upload is missing, expired, or non-compliant, hospital purchasing is suspended until cured.

What the platforms enforce

Commercial general liability limits and additional insured wording for the hospital and affiliated entities.

Products and completed operations limits sized to the GPO supplier schedule (typically $10M for medical device).

Primary and non-contributory wording on the AI endorsement.

Waiver of subrogation in the hospital's favor.

30-day notice of cancellation by actual carrier endorsement (not "endeavor to provide").

Workers compensation at statutory limits and automobile liability where the supplier maintains a fleet.

How the upload works

Suppliers receive a notification through the platform when credentialing is required or due for renewal.

COIs are uploaded with required endorsement attachments. The platform validates against the GPO's scheduled requirements.

Non-compliant uploads generate a deficiency notice. Suppliers must cure within the platform-specific cure period (typically 30 days).

If not cured, the supplier credential is suspended, which triggers stop-purchase status with affiliated hospital systems.
